KNIFE TRAY
-
Date Constructed: November 2002
-
Lumber: Poplar
-
Dimensions: 12" wide x 8.25" deep x 5" high
-
Stain: Minwax Red Oak
-
Topcoat: Minwax Fast Drying Satin Polyurethane
-
What I Learned: This project taught me how to use the compound functionality of my compound miter saw. It took a lot of experimentation to get the corner angles right.
-
What Didn't Work:
-
Glue - I had a problem getting rid of wood glue along the joints after the project had been assembled. As a result, there are some places where the lumber didn't take the stain. I'll work harder at sanding in the corners on the next project.
