DRILL PRESS TABLE

-
Date Constructed: March 2005
-
Lumber: 3/4" Baltic Birch Plywood and 1/4" hardboard
-
Dimensions: 30" wide x 12" deep
-
Why I Made It: The metal table that comes with a drill press is not designed for woodworking. They are too small to support big lumber pieces; it's hard to clamp work pieces to them; they don't accommodate big bits like forstner bits; and they don't have a fence to assist with precise hole alignment.
-
Features: This table fixes these problems. The fence slides for easy positioning. The table uses replaceable inserts that you can create to accommodate bits and sanding drums of various sizes.
Construction was easy—I built the table in less than 4 hours.
